12/23/2017: Assailants opened fire on Turkish Gendarmerie soldiers as they attempted to cross the border from Iraq into Hakkari province, Turkey. At least four assailants were killed in the ensuing clash. No group claimed responsibility; however, sources attributed the attack to the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK).
