01/07/2018: Assailants opened fire on the vehicle of Deniz Naki in Duren, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. Naki, a German-Kurdish soccer player, was not harmed in the attack. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, sources suspected that the attack was related to Naki's criticism of the Turkish government.
