Incident Summary:
01/17/2018: Assailants attacked an Afghan National Army (ANA) post in Anar Dara district, Farah, Afghanistan. This was one of two related attacks in Farah on this date. At least two soldiers were killed in this attack while six people were injured across both of the incidents. No group claimed responsibility; however, sources attributed the attack to the Taliban.

Criteria
Criteria 1
The act must be aimed at attaining a political, economic, religious, or social goal. In terms of economic goals, the exclusive pursuit of profit does not satisfy this criterion. It must involve the pursuit of more profound, systemic economic change.

Successful Attack
Success of a terrorist strike is defined according to the tangible effects of the attack.
