Incident Summary:

02/18/2018: Assailants detonated an explosive device and opened fire on the vehicle of Jonathone N Sangma, a Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) provincial assembly candidate, in Samanda, Meghalaya, India. At least four people, including Sangma and two bodyguards, were killed and three people were injured in the attack. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, sources attributed the attack to the Garo National Liberation Army.
