03/08/2018: Assailants opened fire on Kamil Nawaf al-Ghurayri in Saydiyah, Baghdad, Iraq. Al-Ghurayri, a Member of Parliament (MP), was unharmed; however, two of his bodyguards were abducted during the attack. The outcome of the kidnapping is unknown. No group claimed responsibility for the incident.

Criteria
Criteria 1
The act must be aimed at attaining a political, economic, religious, or social goal. In terms of economic goals, the exclusive pursuit of profit does not satisfy this criterion. It must involve the pursuit of more profound, systemic economic change.

Successful Attack
