04/03/2018: Security forces identified and engaged assailants attempting to attack a military base in San Roque, Surigao del Sur, Philippines. There were no reported casualties. This was one of two related attempted attacks that occurred in Surigao del Sur on this date. No group claimed responsibility for the incidents; however, sources attributed the attacks to the New People’s Army (NPA).
