04/13/2018: Assailants threw a sound bomb and opened fire targeting Anwar Fakhri Karim in Adhaim, Diyala, Iraq. Karim, an Iraqi Turkmen Front parliamentary candidate, was not harmed; however, his driver was injured in the attack. The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) claimed responsibility for the incident and stated that the victim was targeted because he was a candidate in the "polytheistic democracy" election.
