Incident Summary:

05/07/2018: Assailants dragged three truck drivers from a school, beat them, and forced them to drive their trucks outside of the village in the outskirts of Gatta village, Maharashtra, India. One of the trucks did not start but the other two were driven out of the village and set on fire by the assailants. Maoists claimed responsibility for the incident and declared a bandh in response to the killing of 40 Maoists by security forces in Gadchiroli district in April 2018. Sources stated that the 40 Maoists were killed in two encounters, which Maoists believed were "fake" and resulted in the death of innocent people.
