05/08/2018: Assailants abducted two people, including a city prefect, identified as Makan Doumbia, and his driver, from Tenenkou, Mopti, Mali. The hostages were released on February 19, 2019. Fulani extremists claimed responsibility for the incident and stated that they would "teach the Koran to the prefect."
