Incident Summary:

05/09/2018: Assailants abducted an engineer accused of being an Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) member in Deir ez-Zor, Syria. The hostage was tortured and killed and his body was returned to his family on June 7, 2018. No group claimed responsibility; however, sources attributed the attack to the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK).
