Incident Summary:

05/12/2018: Assailants opened fire on an army patrol in Atubon, Tanawan, Negros Occidental, Philippines. Two soldiers and one assailant were killed while eight soldiers and two assailants were injured in the ensuing clash. The New People's Army (NPA) claimed responsibility for the incident and stated that the attack was carried out in response to military operations and human rights abuses in areas of Negros Occidental.
