05/18/2018: Assailants attacked a police checkpoint in Maruf district, Kandahar, Afghanistan. At least 16 people, including four officers and 12 assailants, were killed and 24 other people, including six officers and 18 assailants, were injured in the ensuing clash. No group claimed responsibility; however, sources attributed the incident to the Taliban.
