06/08/2018: Assailants abducted Dinanath Upadhyay, a supervisor at a tea garden, in Tinsukia, Assam, India. Upadhyay was released on June 25, 2018. The United Liberation Front of Assam (ULFA) claimed responsibility for the incident and accused Dinanath Upadhyay of providing information about the locations and movements of ULFA and National Socialist Council of Nagaland-Khaplang (NSCN-K) members to a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) legislator and his employer.
