08/14/2018: Assailants abducted Kamal al-Shawesh, a journalist and human rights activist, in Hudaydah, Al Hudaydah, Yemen. Al-Shawesh was released on September 24, 2018. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, sources attributed the attack to Houthi extremists (Ansar Allah).
