08/28/2018: Assailants shot civilians and set fire to a church in Abonong, Barkin Ladi, Plateau, Nigeria. At least seven people, including Reverend Adamu Gyang Wurim, were killed and one other was injured in the attack. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, sources attributed the attack to Fulani extremists.

Criteria
Criteria 1
The act must be aimed at attaining a political, economic, religious, or social goal. In terms of economic goals, the exclusive pursuit of profit does not satisfy this criterion. It must involve the pursuit of more profound, systemic economic change.
