Incident Summary:

12/01/2018: Two suicide bombers were stopped by Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) members at a checkpoint and one detonated their device in Maiduguri, Borno, Nigeria. Five CJTF members were injured and the two assailants were killed in the blast. No group claimed responsibility; however, sources attributed the attack to the Al-Barnawi faction of Boko Haram, also known as the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP).
