Incident Summary:

12/31/2018: Assailants opened fire on and threw an explosive device at police officers who were recovering the body of a gold miner who was killed on the previous day in Salubanga, Parigi Moutong, Central Sulawesi, Indonesia. Two police officers, identified as Chief Brigadier Andrew Maha Putra and Chief Brigadier Baso, were injured in the attack. No group claimed responsibility; however, sources attributed the attack to the Mujahidin Indonesia Timur (MIT).
