Incident Summary:

12/31/2018: Assailants abducted Luis Alfonso Lázaro in Arauca district, Arauca, Colombia. Lázaro, a biomedical engineer, was rescued by the Venezuelan army, after he was transferred to that country, approximately 12 hours later. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, sources attributed the attack to the 10th Front of Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) dissidents.
