01/01/2019: Assailants highjacked vehicles and abducted people selling khat in Caad, Mudug, Somalia. This was one of three similar attacks in the area on the same day. At least 30 people were kidnapped across all three incidents. Their whereabouts remain unknown. No group claimed responsibility; however, sources attributed the attack to Al-Shabaab.
