01/27/2019: An explosive device detonated prematurely as assailants were attempting to plant it in Kalaigal, Kunar, Afghanistan. Four assailants were killed in the blast. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, sources attributed the incident to the Khorasan Chapter of the Islamic State and noted that the device was likely intended to target security forces.
