02/04/2019: Assailants abducted Nicola Chiacchio, an Italian tourist, in Douentza, Mopti, Mali. Chiacchio was released on October 8, 2020. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, sources attributed the attack to Jamaat Nusrat al-Islam wal Muslimin (JNIM).
