Incident Summary:
02/07/2019: Assailants opened fire on civilians and abducted an unknown number of them in Dahaki, Al Bayda, Yemen. This was one of three coordinated abductions in Al Bayda on this day. At least 27 people were taken hostage across the three attacks. The outcome of the kidnapping is unknown. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, sources attributed the attack to Houthi extremists.

Criteria 1
The act must be aimed at attaining a political, economic, religious, or social goal. In terms of economic goals, the exclusive pursuit of profit does not satisfy this criterion. It must involve the pursuit of more profound, systemic economic change.

Successful Attack
Success of a terrorist strike is defined according to the tangible effects of the attack.
