02/27/2019: Assailants abducted 14 local non-governmental (NGO) aid workers in Buura, Gedo, Somalia. At least five of the hostages escaped shortly after the abduction. The status of the remaining hostages is unknown. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, sources attributed the attack to Al-Shabaab.
