Incident Summary:

03/20/2019: An assailant, armed with a knife, petrol cans, and a lighter, hijacked a school bus carrying 51 children and three adults in Crema, Lombardy, Italy. When police intervened, the assailant set the bus on fire. The 54 hostages were rescued shortly thereafter. At least 12 people were injured in the attack. An unaffiliated individual, identified as Ousseynou Sy, claimed responsibility for the incident and stated that he wanted "to punish Europe for their policies on migration" and that "he hates white people for having 'invaded and colonized' Africa, forcing Africans to emigrate and 'die in the Mediterranean.'"
