Incident Summary:
03/28/2019: Assailants attacked a police checkpoint in the 3rd police district of Ghazni, Afghanistan. This was one of three related incidents in and around the city on this day. At least nine police officers were killed and six other officers were injured while the assailants sustained an unknown number of casualties across all three assaults. In addition, a mortar fired during the clashes struck a school in Andar district, killing four students and injuring 15 other students and two teachers. The Taliban claimed responsibility for the attacks.

Criteria
Criteria 1
The act must be aimed at attaining a political, economic, religious, or social goal. In terms of economic goals, the exclusive pursuit of profit does not satisfy this criterion. It must involve the pursuit of more profound, systemic economic change.

Successful Attack
Success of a terrorist strike is defined according to the tangible effects of the attack.
