Incident Summary:

04/17/2019: An explosive device detonated near a vehicle transporting elections officials in Balandapada, Odisha, India. Following the blast, assailants then opened fire on the vehicle. At least one official, identified as Sanjukta Digal, was killed in the attack. This was one of two related incidents targeting elections officials on the same day. No group claimed responsibility; however, sources attributed the attacks to the Communist Party of India - Maoist (CPI-Maoist).
