Incident Summary:

04/17/2019: An explosive device detonated near two vehicles transporting election officials in Phiringia, Odisha, India. Following the blast, assailants then stopped the vehicles, forced the passengers to exit the vehicles, and then set both vehicles on fire. There were no reported casualties in the attack. This was one of two related incidents targeting elections officials on the same day. No group claimed responsibility; however, sources attributed the attacks to the Communist Party of India - Maoist (CPI-Maoist).
