Incident Summary:
04/24/2019: An assailant drove his vehicle into a Raytheon building before setting it on fire in Kearny Mesa, San Diego, California, United States. There were no reported casualties in the attack, but the building was damaged. This was one of two related attacks carried out by the assailant on this day. Daniel Hector Mackinnon was arrested the next day when he attempted to return to the United States from Mexico. Sources noted that the building was targeted "based on the nature of the business and/or their professional/political ties.” Mackinnon plead guilty to one count of malicious damage to building by means of fire and was sentenced to seven years in prison for “politically motivated arsons.”

Criteria
Criteria 1
The act must be aimed at attaining a political, economic, religious, or social goal. In terms of economic goals, the exclusive pursuit of profit does not satisfy this criterion. It must involve the pursuit of more profound, systemic economic change.
