Incident Summary:

05/01/2019: An explosive device detonated targeting a Quick Response Team (QRT) police vehicle responding to a previous incident in Kurkheda, Maharashtra, India. One civilian and 15 police officers were killed in the attack. This was one of two related incidents in Maharashtra on this day. The Communist Party of India - Maoist (CPI-Maoist) claimed responsibility and stated that the incidents were carried out in retaliation for the deaths of fellow members the previous year.
