Incident Summary:

06/30/2019: Assailants demanded an extortion payment from a truck driver at a checkpoint in Ash Sharyah district, Al Bayda, Yemen. When the truck driver refused, he and his son were detained for several hours. The truck driver was eventually executed. Two assailants were killed and another assailant was wounded in an ensuing clash with the driver’s son. No group claimed responsibility; however, sources attributed the attack to Houthi extremists (Ansar Allah).
