Incident Summary:

07/17/2019: Assailants attacked a military patrol in Jakana, Borno, Nigeria. At least 11 assailants and five soldiers were killed and an unknown number of others were wounded in the ensuing clash. No group claimed responsibility; however, sources attributed the attack to the Al-Barnawi faction of Boko Haram, also known as the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP).
