Incident Summary:

07/22/2019: Suicide bombers detonated an explosives-laden vehicle at a French and UN peacekeeping mission in Mali (MINUSMA) military base in Gao, Mali. The two suicide bombers were killed and six Estonian soldiers, one French soldier and two Malian civilians were injured in the blast. Jamaat Nusrat al-Islam wal Muslimin (JNIM) claimed responsibility for the incident. Source also attributed the attack to the Islamic State in the Greater Sahara (ISGS).
