08/07/2019: An explosive device was discovered and safely defused at the Prathunam market in Thanon Phaya Thai, Bangkok, Thailand. This was one of six related attacks across two days in Bangkok and Nonthaburi. The device had likely been planted as part of a series of attacks on August 2, 2019, but failed to detonate. No group claimed responsibility; however, sources attributed the incidents to separatists. Sources noted that the attacks were carried out in order to disrupt the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) meeting in Bangkok.
