Incident Summary:

08/17/2019: Assailants attacked a security outpost in Yangi Qala, Faryab, Afghanistan. At least 17 people, including one police officer, four pro-government militia members, and 12 assailants, were killed and six other security forces members were injured in the attack. This was one of three similar attacks in Faryab within 24 hours. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, sources attributed the incident to the Taliban.
