09/03/2019: A landmine detonated when a Swiss Foundation for Mine Action (FSD) employee attempted to defuse it in Tel Al Shaer, Mosul, Nineveh, Iraq. One FSD employee, identified as U.S. citizen Brandon Pinson, was killed in the blast. The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) claimed responsibility for the attack.
