Incident Summary:

09/12/2019: Assailants attacked and held hostage 10 family members of Jammu and Kashmir People’s Democratic Party (PDP) district president, Sheikh Nasir Hussain, at his residence in Kishtwar, Jammu and Kashmir, India. One person was injured in the attack and all of the hostages were released 10 hours later. A firearm was also stolen by the assailants during the attack. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, sources attributed the attack to Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT).
