Incident Summary:
10/01/2019: An assailant with a sword and a gun attacked college students at the Savo Vocational College in Kuopio, Northern Savonia, Finland. One person was killed and ten others, including the assailant and a police officer, were injured in the attack. No group claimed responsibility for the incident. Police arrested Joel Otto Aukusti Marin, a student at the school, at the scene. Criteria 1
The act must be aimed at attaining a political, economic, religious, or social goal. In terms of economic goals, the exclusive pursuit of profit does not satisfy this criterion. It must involve the pursuit of more profound, systemic economic change.
Criterion 2
