Incident Summary:

11/11/2019: Assailants opened fire on a vehicle transporting priests and a deacon in Zar, Deir ez-Zor, Syria. Both Hovsep Petoyan and Abraham Petoyan, Armenian Catholic Church priests, were killed and Fati Sano, an Al Hasakah Church deacon, was injured in the assault. The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) claimed responsibility for the attack.
