12/17/2019: Assailants opened fire on a joint military and police checkpoint along the Kabul-Kandahar highway in Shahbaz, Ghazni, Afghanistan. At least 12 people, including 11 assailants and one security officer, were killed and two other security personnel were injured in the ensuing clash. The Taliban claimed responsibility for the incident.
