Incident Summary:
12/24/2019: In an insider attack, assailants attacked a joint military checkpoint in Khili Guli, Balkh, Afghanistan. At least seven soldiers were killed and six others, including three soldiers and three National Directorate of Security (NDS) officers, were injured in the attack. Six other soldiers were held hostage and the outcome is unknown. The Taliban claimed responsibility for the incident.

Criteria
Criteria 1

Successful Attack
Success of a terrorist strike is defined according to the tangible effects of the attack. Success is not judged in terms of the larger goals of the perpetrators.
