Incident Summary:

01/15/2020: Assailants disguised as soldiers ambushed the convoy of Alhaji Umaru Bubaram, the traditional emir of Potiskum, and abducted nine people along the Kaduna-Zaria Highway in Katabu, Kaduna, Nigeria. Seven people, including four drivers and two civilians, were killed and four others including Bubaram were injured in the attack. The hostages were released on January 22, 2020. Ansaru (Jama'atu Ansarul Muslimina Fi Biladis Sudan) claimed responsibility for the incident.
