Incident Summary:
01/20/2020: An assailant stabbed and killed his boss and friend, William Knight, after a political argument on a construction site along Florida Turnpike near State highway 528 in Orlando, Florida, United States. An American flag was draped next to Knight’s body and the packaging was found nearby. The assailant, Mason Toney, called witnesses terrorists and fled the scene before he was arrested several hours later in Brevard County. Sources noted that Toney and his boss had opposing political views, with Knight supporting Donald Trump and Toney being anti-government, believing “that the government is bad and out to get him.” Sources also noted that Toney came to work that day with a backpack, which was very unusual.

Criteria
Criteria 1
The act must be aimed at attaining a political, economic, religious, or social goal. In terms of economic goals, the exclusive pursuit of profit does not satisfy this criterion. It must involve the pursuit of more profound, systemic economic change.
Criterion 2
There must be evidence of an intention to coerce, intimidate, or convey some other message to a larger audience (or audiences) than the immediate victims.
