Incident Summary:

02/03/2020: An assailant armed with a knife attacked gendarmes at a barracks in Dieuze, Grand-Est, France. At least one gendarme was injured and the assailant was shot and injured in the incident. In a call to the police prior to the attack, the incident was claimed to have been carried out in the name of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL). After the attack it was also discovered that the assailant, identified as Mattias R., had enlisted in the military two months prior.
