02/09/2020: Assailants opened fire targeting civilians at an army checkpoint in Auno, Borno, Nigeria. At least 30 people were killed, an unknown number of people were set on fire, and at least 22 civilians were abducted in the attack. The outcome of the kidnapping is unknown. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, sources attributed the attack to the Shekau faction of Boko Haram.
