Incident Summary:

02/19/2020: An assailant opened fire on Arena Bar & Cafe in Hanau, Hesse, Germany. At least five people were killed in the attack. This was one of three coordinated attacks in Hanau on the same day. Six people were injured across the first two attacks. Tobias Rathjen, an anti-immigrant extremist, claimed responsibility for the incidents through a manifesto in which he denounced migrants and called for the "annihilation" of people from Africa, Asia, and the Middle East.
