02/20/2020: An explosive device detonated targeting a factory in Kyllon Mathei Pydeng Jalong, Meghalaya, India. There were no reported casualties in the attack. Hynniewtrep National Liberation Council (HNLC) claimed responsibility for the incident and stated that the attack was carried out to demonstrate to police the group's capabilities to cause significant damage. Officials noted that one day prior to this attack, a member of the Hynniewtrep National Liberation Council (HNLC) had demanded money from the factory and stated that there would be "dire consequences" for the factory if the money was not transferred.

Criteria
Criteria 1
The act must be aimed at attaining a political, economic, religious, or social goal. In terms of economic goals, the exclusive pursuit of profit does not satisfy this criterion. It must involve the pursuit of more profound, systemic economic change.
