Incident Summary:

03/19/2020: Assailants attacked a Malian Army base in Tarkint, Gao, Mali. At least 29 soldiers were killed and five soldiers were injured in the attack. Jamaat Nusrat al-Islam wal Muslimin (JNIM) claimed responsibility for the incident and called for foreign troops to leave Mali and for the Malian president to begin negotiating with the group.
