Incident Summary:

04/24/2020: Assailants opened fire on civilian convoy being protected by park rangers in Virunga National Park in Rumangabo, North Kivu, Democratic Republic of the Congo. At least 17 people, including 13 rangers and four civilians, were killed and five people, including three rangers and two civilians, were injured in the attack. No group claimed responsibility; however, sources attributed the attack to the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Rwanda (FDLR), which denied involvement.
