04/24/2020: An assailant set fire to the Islamic Center of Cape Girardeau in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, United States. There were no reported casualties in the attack. Nicholas Proffitt was arrested and charged in connection with the incident. Sources noted that Proffitt had previously attacked the mosque in 2009 and also stated that he targeted the building "because of the religion of those who worship there."
