05/03/2020: Security forces apprehended armed assailants in boats attempting to carry out an attack in Macuto, Vargas, Venezuela. At least six assailants were killed and 13 were arrested, including two United States citizens. Jordan Goudreau, a United States-based security contractor, claimed responsibility for the incident and stated that the attack was part of "Operation Gideon," an attempt to "liberate" Venezuela and detain Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and other senior government officials.
